“For the past five years+ we have only taken donations for the touring bands that play our home. The donations have varied from amazing to discouraging at times. After some lengthy discussions, and the fact that we want to continue to help bands have the best experience playing our little house in Akron, we are going to begin charging $5 to go directly to all bands, touring and local. This scene cannot thrive on pure enjoyment alone. We want to continue bringing the best bands in the scene to our house for our friends to enjoy, and as much of a shift as this may be, it is something that we must be willing to do. As always, we will never make a dollar off of any show, and we will never charge more than $5 for any show. We will begin this policy at the Slugging Percentage, En Garde, Ultra Ultra, Chopping Block show this Sunday. Come hang out, support some awesome bands, and have a good time!”
